Ash Wood & Ash Lumber

Ash Wood or Ash Lumber is classified as Domestic wood and is sometimes referred to also as, White Ash, Green Ash, Red Ash, Black Ash and Brown Ash.
The heartwood of Ash is a grayish brown but sometimes has a red tinge to it. It is also usually straight grained and coarse but has a smooth texture to it.
Ash is generally used for sporting goods, bats, oars, pool cues, tool handles, cabinet work, furniture making, high-class joinery, plywood, paneling and veneer.
It’s bending qualities can vary but it has good strength, stiffness and hardness considering it being relatively light weight. It also stains and glues well as well as
polishes well. Ash has a Janka hardness of: 1320
