CURLY CHERRY

Curly Cherry heartwood varies from rich red to reddish-brown. Curly Cherry Lumber is considered by most woodworkers to be one of the finest North American hardwoods available.

The wood of the Cherry tree and its curly cherry figure, as well as its fine grain texture, are all characteristics prized for their beauty and their workability. When the Cherry wood is finished, it results in a beautiful salmon pink to reddish color and with time even improves in color. It is not easy to find Curly Cherry with outstanding figures, since it does not have the same type of figure as curly maple. However, at C.R. Muterspaw Lumber, we have a great selection of quality curly cherry wood to choose from.

The richest-colored cherry lumber comes from Pennsylvania. Since the tree is susceptible to health issues, it is rarely found larger than a 2-foot diameter. The quality curly cherry figure is found in less than 2% of the cherry wood that is harvested. Curly cherry is a world-class figured lumber, often referred to as an exotic wood because of its difficulty to source.

Curly Cherry wood is generally easy to work with, beautiful, and affordable. We offer pick-up or nationwide shipping and delivery right to your door.
