Gaboon Ebony Wood or Gaboon Ebony Lumber is classified as an Exotic wood and sometimes referred to as Nigerian Ebony or Cameroon Ebony depending on it's country of origin. Gaboon Ebony is a very dense and hard wood with variations of straight to slightly interlocked grain that is very finely textured. Gaboon ebony is considered to be the most blackest wood that grows. It also glues well, and can be polished to an excellent finish. Gaboon Ebony is used for cutlery, knife handles, door knobs, butt ends of billiard cues, piano and organ keys, violin and guitar finger boards as well as other musical instrument pieces.
