Peruvian Walnut is a beautiful exotic wood that comes from Southern Mexico as well as Central and South America.
The Peruvian Walnut tree grows 30 – 60 ft.tall with a trunk diameter of 2 – 3 ft.
It is sometimes referred to as Tropical Walnut and Nogal, but it's bontanical name is, Juglans spp.
The grain of Peruvian Walnut is usually straight but, can sometimes be irregular and has a medium to coarse texture and good natural luster.
The heartwood tends to be darker than other walnut species, and has a deep chocolate brown color, sometimes even with a purplish hue.
It is most often used for, furniture an cabinetry making, interior trim, veneers, flooring and musical instruments.
